short transcription with detailed notes

I’ve used my script so much that I write it fluently–much faster than I would write “longhand”.

Again in answer to, “Well, can you use these for abstract ideas?”

article on creativity in German

I had fun doing this and made some satisfying new id creations.  I underlined some of them in red.

The section between the two red marks is a transcription of the book page.  Whenever I do this I create delightful new creations and improvements.  If I weren’t delighted, I wouldn’t do it.

A side-thought:  I just chanced to need to recall the id for “quasi”– simply “as if” in Latin. Part of the joy of id use is the joy of remembering (another big one being creating).  I don’t think I’d used the “quasi” id since I created it years ago, yet I remembered.

1/5/18 transcription

The part underlined in red says, “I should thank J. for giving me the book.  But probably will not.  It would be too uncomfortable to talk to him again.  We have too big differences. He is way too conventional for me. Yet, he is quite a scholar, which is admirable.

Surely you will consider such a hand is of little use.  Now look closely at the functions of your mind/brain.  Can you affirm with utter certainty that you always think only when and about what you really want to, and that therefore you know from where your thoughts and feelings come into the light of your consciousness?”

The ids are rather compact, aren’t they.   I often think of Christophe’s question in our interview, ” And can you represent abstract concepts with your script? And how I can–that’s most of the fun and beauty of it!

I am getting rather good and fast at writing in ids-only checked my dictionary a couple of times writing this page.

1-4 transcription.

Some transcription from the book Concentration by Mouni Sadhu.

The sentence underlined in pink says “It is essential that you curb the excessive curiosity of your mind for at least the short periods when you are working for perennial instead of mortal and ephemeral things. ”

Transcribing is an exercise in not just memory but creativity.  I  circle novelties and improvements for later harvest into my dictionary.

Two remarkable things about what I am doing:

  1.  It works!    I don’t know of any other such ideogram systems that come anywhere close to working as well as this.
  2. It changes the psyche.  Language is so central to our beings that having a huge new toolbox of images always present and participating is a big change.

Happy New Year.  Above is some of this morning’s transcription–from the book Waking, Dreaming, Being by Evan Thompson.  As I do and look over my work I experience it as . . . fantastic.

Perhaps the new year will bring a co-creator.  That would be nice–not necessary, but nice.  Anyone with an intense interest, anyone with the insight to value this, just contact me.

12/27 Still at it

As a matter of fact, I enjoy and think so highly of what I am doing that I’m intensifying my work with it.  I recently deleted about 100 posts from this site. Out with the old, in with the new.

New edition of Neoideogram Resource Book

About 110 pages.  Seeing the title with new ids for “neo” and “resource” make me realize how much progress I’ve made.  “Neo/new” shows the contrastive sense of the word well.  “Resource” shows what a resource really is–a container, category, pool of things used–and I have a family of ids based on it. I see many ids within though that are not satisfactory or pleasing at all.
