The sentence underlined in pink says “It is essential that you curb the excessive curiosity of your mind for at least the short periods when you are working for perennial instead of mortal and ephemeral things. ”
Transcribing is an exercise in not just memory but creativity. I circle novelties and improvements for later harvest into my dictionary.
Two remarkable things about what I am doing:
- It works! I don’t know of any other such ideogram systems that come anywhere close to working as well as this.
- It changes the psyche. Language is so central to our beings that having a huge new toolbox of images always present and participating is a big change.
