Neo Ideograms

I’m reposting this because it is so good. I’ve made thousands of posts and many of them have disappeared from my site. Anyway, this shows clearly some features of ids that make them superior to Chinese characters. 

1) ids are compact and efficient. In the last line in the picture, by my count the id’s use 34 “strokes”, the Chinese characters 107, the Roman letters of the English around 70.   So ids are more than 3 times easier and faster to write and take up less than a third of the space.                                                 

2) ids make a lot better sense.

3) ids are open-endedly and progressively creative, whereas Chinese characters are, as far as I know, pretty much “set in stone.”

If anyone wants explanatory notes to the above, just write to me and ask.

A working definition of effort: pressure toward the realization of intentions and maintenance of commitments.

A new id for “rate” and the striking and typical comparison of the kanji vs. the id for “work”

While waiting in car at hospital. Just trying making a post from my phone. Writing about logic using ids — at a minimum ids make it more fun, and I just might get somewhere that I would not have been able to without them.

I’m mainly concerned with making ids for core functional words in English. They are all that are important. But I often give in to the temptation and challenge of relatively insignificant words, with satisfying results.
